Tottenham Hotspur are set to beat Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal in the race to sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid, AS reports.
The midfielder was one of Spain's key stars as they won the European Under-21 Championship this summer.
But the 22-year-old is surplus to requirements at Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane open to the player leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ceballos started just 13 games in La Liga for Los Blancos last season.
It is believed that Spurs are now in the driving seat and are expected to complete a deal after Ceballos spoke directly with Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs, who broke their record to sign Tanguy Ndombele earlier this week, are now expected to finalise a loan agreement with Real Madrid which could also include a purchase option as part of the deal.
